What is your availability for services?
What area do you serve?
What does your service cost?
Bayside Home Care prices are very competitive and are generally charged by the hour. In-home assessments are always free. We bill every two weeks. We’d be happy to speak with you about your financial concerns.
Are caregivers your employees or are they independent contractors?
How do you screen your caregivers pre-employment? Are they bonded and insured? Bayside’s caregivers are employees, not independent contractors.
Bayside Home Care carefully vets all of our employees. Our caregivers are W-2 employees. Background checked, Drug Tested, TB Tested, Reference Checked, Bonded and Insured. We are responsible for all employment related concerns such as taxes, workers comp and other employer liabilities. Many are not aware that if you privately hire a caregiver you would be responsible for all taxes including an unemployment claim against you should services end with the hired caregiver. In addition if a privatly hired caregiver would get injured your homeowners would not cover it and you could be held personally & financially liable.
Being in the industry for over 10 years we have valuable experience of choosing a quality caregiver. A caregiver that has the compassion, skills and ethics to succeed in providing a high level of care to you or your loved one.
In addition, our caregivers are covered by a crime bond, hired auto insurance, non-owned auto insurance, and both commercial and general liability. We take care of those issues so you don’t have to worry.
What training do you provide for your caregivers?
Bayside Home Care caregivers are uniquely qualified because they all undergo initial training, including CPR and dementia training. We ensure that the caregivers we send to your home are caring, qualified and reliable individuals
How do you determine who comes to the home and do you send the same aide each time?
What happens if the aide calls in late or doesn’t show up?
What if the aide gets sick, hurt, goes on vacation, has their own family emergency? What is your back-up procedure?
At Bayside Home Care all caregivers are required to log in on our automated system from the clients home. If the caregiver is late or a no show we know immediately and can respond accordingly. This also logs in actual time caregiver spends with client so client is assured they being billed properly. We have adequate staffing should such a situation occur and find proper replacement as needed.
What is your procedure if we are not happy with our assigned caregiver?
How do you maintain high standards for providing quality care? How do you supervise the aide?
The staff at Bayside Home Care is supervised by management. We perform random onsite checks at the house while the caregiver is there to ensure that all services are being performed properly. We report this information back to the family. We also call the family or the client when caregivers are not there so they can speak freely about any concerns they may have.
How is communication maintained between the family and caregiver?
Bayside Home Care not only keeps in contact with the family via phone, but we also have an exclusive “Care Plan Book,” which is kept at the client’s home. This book serves as a communication tool for families and the caregiver. The family or client can write notes to the caregiver. The caregiver will document what tasks are performed and observations during the shift. The book also serves as a reference for caregivers of whom to notify in emergency, location of important documents, care needed, likes and dislikes, medications etc. Family or Clients may also opt in to our online system allowing them to view the schedule and communicate easily with the office.
Is your agency locally owned or part of a franchise or corporation?
Bayside Home Care is not a franchise. We are a local, family-owned and -operated agency. We are a proud member of “The Seniors Choice,” a nationwide network with over 250 agencies. We have developed some of the highest benchmarks in the industry and have implemented the latest and most respected systems in the industry. You won’t ever have to deal with a nameless corporation.
What hours can I contact someone from the agency?
All hours. Someone from Bayside Home Care is available 24 hours a day. If you receive a message, we will promptly return your call. A majority of the time no matter day or time you will talk to an actual live person not a machine. But if that rare occasion occurs and you leave a message we will return your phone call promptly.
